Kaizer Chiefs won’t return to the scene of THAT devastating defeat against league champions Mamelodi Sundowns for their next match against TS Galaxy on Tuesday, 7 May.

Amakhosi suffered a record 5-1 loss at the hands on Masandawana at the FNB Stadium last Thursday.

In winning the match, Mamelodi Sundowns clinched a record seventh consecutive top-flight title and a record-extending 14th overall.

Kaizer Chiefs will get the chance to redeem themselves on Tuesday evening when they host TS Galaxy, but that match won’t take place at the Glamour Boys’ ‘calabash’ stadium.

Instead, the match will be hosted at Amakhosi’s alternative venue, the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

Kaizer Chiefs have four games left this season and are on a mission is to collect maximum points from those encounters so as to cement a top 8 finish when the season ends on Saturday, 25 May.

Duels between Kaizer Chiefs and TS Galaxy have often produced entertainment, unpredictability and good football for supporters since the first meeting in 2019.

With TS Galaxy having won the first round encounter at the Mbombela Stadium last August, Kaizer Chiefs will try everything in their power to pick up a victory in this second round match.

TS Galaxy will rely on a number of players who once donned the famed Amakhosi jersey for both experience and information.

They include Bernard Parker, Samir Nurković and Amakhosi’s development product, Puso Dithejane.

The Glamour Boys will, however, do their best to ensure that they stop TS Galaxy and score the goals that will get them maximum points.

Kaizer Chiefs are in eighth place in the log

Kaizer Chiefs are still eighth in the DStv Premiership standings, having gained 33 points in their previous 26 matches.

Meanwhile, TS Galaxy are in fifth position after picking up 38 points in their 25 outings to date.

Tickets for the DStv Premiership match are on sale through Computicket online at www.computicket.co.za or Shoprite and Checkers Supermarkets for R60 per ticket.

The match will kick off at 19:30.
