ICYMI: Orlando Pirates target has R35 Million price tag attached

Banyana Banyana star Kgatlana earns a big move

Thembi Kgatlana is leaving Racing Louisville after joining the MLS club in 2022 following stints with Benfica, Eibar and Atletico Madrid. The well-travelled striker makes the switch to Tigres for a reported $275k transfer fee along with $25k in add-ons and 5% on any future sale. This is according to UnplayableZA on x via Bekki Morgan. It’s the second-biggest fee for an outgoing player in NWSL history. The 27-year-old will earn $550k a year, or R10 Million.

Kgatlana’s national team colleague Jermaine Seoposenwe plies her trade for Mexican outfit Monterrey, so we could see the pair strike up an exciting rivalry in central America.

BUTHELEZI RULING THE ROOST FOR PIRATES

Meanwhile, at the other end of the pitch and back in Mzansi, Melusi Buthelezi is starring in goal for Orlando Pirates. After 10 matches for the Sea Robbers, Buthelezi has already kept eight shutouts, including in each of his first two games. He only made his debut for the club in October. Recently, his outstanding display against TS Galaxy preserved the three points for Pirates against a spirited TS Galaxy side in their 1-0 win. Galaxy, of course, are his former team. Buthelezi now boasts 35 clean sheets in 68 professional football matches, including spells at Galaxy and Jomo Cosmos in the NFD. Pirates have conceded just one goal in their last seven matches across all competitions.
